The Windsor Knot

Do you know how the Windsor knot got its name?

England’s Prince of Wales was the icon of fashion in the 1920’s and 30’s and the world’s most eligible bachelor.

He gave up the British throne  in 1936 to marry the scandalous American, Wallis Simpson, and took the title of Duke of Windsor.

When he created a new way of tying his ties, it was dubbed a Windsor knot.  It’s been a perennial favorite  ever since.

What is a Windsor Knot?

According to Dictionary.com a Windsor Knot is "a wide triangular knot, produced by making extra turns in tying a tie."
